Books That Will Change Your Life - Feather Dawn Life Coach Favorites

During my own journey, there have been some resources that have been downright magical in how they have changed my life.

I’m sharing them with you because of the impact they’ve had on my own understanding and how that’s helped me create positive changes in my own life. (I can’t take credit for everything after all ;) )

My life and work has been greatly influenced by these resources… so please check them out (and no worries - I have no affiliation with these and do NOT receive any kind of commission from recommending it - they’re honestly just awesome).

And if you do choose to work with me, I HIGHLY suggest you go through these, as they will give us a great foundation for our work together. The audio books are my favorite way to consume them.

It’s Just My Nature

by Carol Tuttle

This book really helped me come to understand who I am and my natural way of being at a much deeper level, and taught me to honor and love that instead of fighting it or being ashamed of it. Since I have embraced it, I’ve started living a happier life with more ease and flow, and it’s done wonders for my relationships as I’ve learned to not only honor my true nature, but others as well.

Slight Edge

by Jeff Olson

This is one of those books that isn’t very easy to find anymore, but has been invaluable in it’s simplistic but profound knowledge. It was actually gifted to my husband by one of his coaches, and it has impacted both of us immesurably. It’s easy to get caught up on the big picture and where you want to be, and where you are not, and get so frustrated with yourself. This book really helps you see and understand how real and lasting change ACTUALLY happens. It’s simple but an easy read and so worth the time.

Secrets of the Millionaire Mind

by T. Harv Eker

So this is a fun and quirky one. I highly suggest the audible version as he is very engaging and fun to listen to. He does shamelessly plug his own course throughout his book, but the info he gives is truly invaluable to understanding your relationship with money and abundance. Some parts of it are a bit cheesy and might make you cringe, but EVERY time my husband and I have listened to this book and really done the work of examining ourselves our income has increased. I don’t think that is a coincidence. If finances and accepting abundance in your life is one of your pain points that you want to improve this book is a MUST.

The Child Whisperer

by Carol Tuttle

This has a lot of the same information as the book above, but is presented in a slightly different way. I know it was written more as a guide book for parents, but I personally found it extremely helpful in understanding my life growing up, seeing how and where my inner child might have received wounds that turned into blocks, and the ways in which I could begin to heal those. I also think it’s going to be extremely useful as I have my own children.

The 5 Love Languages

by Gary Chapman

This is just one of those must haves. It’s not that I refer to it as much as I do the other books listed here, but I think understanding the ways in which you perceive, receive and give love is not only extremely important for your relationships, but helps you understand better how to give love and care to yourself. If relationships is one of the areas you struggle with or want to improve, this is a great place to start. Of course relationship issues go deeper than just this, but understanding and using each others language goes far in healing .

The Power of Vulnerability

by Brené Brown (Audiobook Only)

I would say at this point Brené Brown is almost a household name, at least in the right circles. Her work is very profound, but this is one of her first. I found it back around the time of her very first Ted Talk. It’s not a book, but an audible of one of her seminars and covers A LOT of the stuff she talks about in a number of her first books. It really helped me understand myself, and how I relate to people, and what is and is not vulnerability, and see where I not only had wounds, but how I was compounding them with my actions. It also started teaching me about boundaries, how important they are, and the healthy ways to have them. I really love all of her work, but if I was to suggest just one this would be it.

Feather is one of the most resourceful and knowledgeable people I know. Her depth of knowledge and different healing techniques gives her so many different tools to help you get down to the core of a problem and actually heal and change it.

She has a way of pinpointing the exact issue and getting to the core of something, when you’ve been stuck on the surface just dealing with the symptoms. She always knows the right thing to say to help you gain awareness and get unstuck so you can start to heal. The best part of all, she really cares and has an honest desire to help.
